Congratulations to Cataloochee Ski Area for another record breaking season. The ski area will operate through March 31. An amazing trend considering global warming.
1% Additional Bed Tax takes effect.

An additional 1% bed tax has been put into effect by the County Commissioners. The additional collected taxes will be returned proportionally to the zip codes that they were collected from to be used for tourism related projects. The town has appointed 5 people to a advisory board to determine the appropriate use of the funds. To make application for use of these funds, contact the town. The applications are available but must be returned before March 31 for the first round of funding.
